Veneer supply
Can anyone help? I make small decorative boxes and I am running out of veneer. My previous supplier died and I have looked around on the net for a new source. I need small quanities of silver ash and burl veneer. Any help would be apprciated... You can see some of my work at www.geocities.com/jimmac_4880/Jimsshed.html

Hi Jim,
You can try:
Peter Scott Young Veneers
37 Alexandra Road
East Ringwood 3135
(03) 9870 8733
I have just started dealing with them, so far their service has been fantastic. I just bought some quilted maple for a small box I am building and they offered to supply smaller pieces for me to save me some $$$

Thanks Joe, I will write to them. They are apparantly not on the net or my searches should have found them.

Jim,
Wren timbers in Cairns has a fair amount of silver ash. He has most machinery there so might be able to cut you some veneers if you don't have a bandsaw to cut your own.

veneer
Snapperhead, I am interested. Shorts 150mm wide are fine. Can you email me? The problem is not timber supply but veneer about 1mm thick for lines. I make up my own bandings so thickness is fairly critical.
Thanks Mick, I will ring them in Cairns.

Snapperhead,
.6 or .8 is ok, I just have to be a bit more careful with the thin stuff. Whats the deal.......
