    I did reply earlier today, but looks like it got lost.

    Stuart,
    The theoretical depth for a cicular arc slot is (22.23 - 20.6)/2 = 0.82 mm.
    As I used a square tool, the depth I cut was closer to 1.0 mm due to the corners of the tool contacting the spline ID first.

    Actually, I did not shoot for a specific depth.
    I cut the first slot nearly to depth and then did the opposite slot to the same depth.
    A measurement then allowed me to reset and recut these two slots.
    Once the first two were correct, repeat to the same setting for the remaining slots.

    Cut per pass was about 2 thou (0.05 mm) with nice shavings generally and the occasional chatter which showed visually in the final slot.
    I think that slotting attachment referenced previously in the thread has advanced somewhat on the 'to do' list.

    160 strokes give or take, thats not to bad. You could always buy a shaper lol
    My to do list keeps getting longer. I'm glad yours has got a little shorter

    It's always nice when a plan comes together, and at least now you have the full range of gears for your lathe.
