Default 28 tooth gear for al960

A 28 tooth gear will let us cut M12 1.75.

Liang Dei will send one for $40 inc postage.

Dunno why they dont give us one as standard

You would think it would be included standard, wonder why they leave it out?
Even my Chinese lathe came with all the gears for all the threads. You would think the Taiwanese lathes and accessories would be a step up on the Chinese, maybe it is an option the when the supplier orders a lathe and they don't worry about it.

Would it be cheaper if ordering more.
I'll be up for one of these gears, perhaps other members who own a al960b lathe may be interested in a bulk buy if its cheaper.
if it works out for this item, who knows, perhaps in the future other items may be able to be purchased cheaper.
    A metalwork co-op.

I'd be in a bulk purchase as well.

    Default Bulk purchase

I have emailed George in Taiwan. He can post us five for a total of $100. I'm not sure how much it would cost to post them onwards but expect $5-$10 or something.

Anyone interested please get in touch

Count me in, definately cheaper in a larger quantity.

local postage for the diamond toolholder was about $5.60, the gear should be about the same.

    Default We can also do M30 x 3.5 (useful!-not)

With the 28 tooth as input ,meshing with the 127 and a 32 (which we've got) meshing with 120 on the output then we get 3.5mm pitch with A6 and 1.75 with B6.

This is like the middle metric setup diagram but with the 28 instead of the 40. There seems to be plenty of scope to adjust to suit.

If you think i've made an error please let me know before I order

If there is still one going, I'd be interested in one too, thanks!

Having recently gone to try to cut M12 on my lathe, it would be very useful. Thanks for taking the time to organising the order, "Rfurzer"

    Hi All,

I don't have an AL960, but I did look at if I could use the 120/127 idler with my CQ6250

If you ran the gears 30-127-40 A5 would give you 3.46mm and B5 would be 1.73mm (I think)

Ok, it's not exact, but still seems pretty close to me..

As a more general question how close does it have to be?

    Regards
    Ray
