New 3 jaw chuck
Dear all,
As I have tried without success to get my 3 jaw chuck for the 9 x 20 lathe to run true I am in the market for another chuck. Hare and Forbes where I bought the lathe and chuck from, say they can get another one for me but it will take at least 4 weeks. Anyone know where I can pick one up from in Melbourne?
Regards,
Tony

Have you tried Asset Plant & Machinery 03-8710 8088?
They are at 4 Capital Drive Dandenong.
They list a 4" for $139 and a 5" for $149, back plate type.

self centring chucks rarely ever run true, by their very nature they are inaccurate..There are exceptions of course..I have read about adjustable self centring chucks where by you adjust them to run true...
