I have a generic 45 Mill Drill, there are many brands of these machines with the gearbox head.

The X axis lead screw nut is worn out , it has 2mm backlash. I tried adjusting the nut with the screw that closes up the slot in the nut, after adjusting the backlash is less around 1mm but the nut binds and the table is very hard to move.

Looks like I have to remove the table to gain access to the nut . The leadscrew appears to be 25mm with a 3mm pitch thread.
