Trucks
Nice movies of that time .The military trucks we see for a few seconds are Dodge 4X4's , 1/2 ton models . A batch of them were shipped out here under the lend lease scheme . They were built from 1940 to 42 , we got the normal cargo version. I have pics of them at Mt Gravat vehicle park near Brisbane, now covered with houses . They were based on a civilian 4x2 1/2ton pickup , and militarised . I love old army trucks ..... the wheelbase is 116" , various body styles were produced.. the command car was seen in that movie too , ambulance was longer at 127" wb. MIKE PS ......A few have been restored here and many more in the USA.
