    Same here. Those people have no imagination.

    The thing I like about metalwork is that it leads into all sorts of other activities.

    Eg. You can try designing and making your own aircraft engine and get into RC aircraft. Or make a steam engine, or invent a do hicky gadget etc.

    Bit difficult with wood work.

    I have met a lot of people who have no interests in life outside of work and have wondered what will they do when they retire. Unfortunately many of these people do not live very long. The body and mind needs a purpose in life. Take away that purpose? Maybe natures way to reduce the effort for the rest of the population.

    Maybe people like us will live longer because of our hobbies.
