air opperated draw bar
Hi everyone I am a raw beginner when it comes to machining. As I have just brought a mill I am in need of some help. The mill has a air operated drawbar The vice that come with the mill is hydraulic. How do you know when these items are tight enough.

I guess you will have to trust the drawbar...
Just be aware not all milling arbours use the same thread... I have a mill with an ISO30 spindle, and the arbours I put it in come with all manner of drawbar threads... The standard for ISO30 is 12mm coarse, but I have one with a 12mm fine thread, another is 1/2" whitworth and I know any NT30 (US variant of ISO30) arbours will be 1/2" UNC.
Never used a hydraulic vise so know nothing there...Light red, the colour of choice for the discerning man.
