lock up 2, M16 nuts (or others depending on the thread) on the bolt, then loosen the post bolt from the lower nut.
edit:
the original bolt took some force to remove.

If thats the case ,and you intend to use a new stud,it might be quicker to just put a pair of stillsons on it.
if there had of been loctite which there isnt then a little heat would of been an advantage.

I have done that Lather.
I didnt think it would be as tight as it...so I am worried I might break something if I used more force....it definitely wouldnt be a LH thread would it?
And thats why I asked Pipeclay...if I needed heat to melt the loctite..(spelt it right this time)...but if it shouldnt be put in with Loctite, I dont need heat

I think my lathe had a nut underneath to undo first, then screw it out...

I didnt look underneath but from feeling it it felt as though it was just screwed in...no nut felt it just feels like a hole...
I wonder if a grub screw is screwed up from the bottom to lock it?...I'd better have a look

if it's the 960b model which the bolt screws directly into the top slide, it's a normal thread.
needed to tighten the 2 M16 nuts very tight using 2 12" shifters to stop the nuts turning when trying to loosen the bolt.
was surprised at how tight it was, using a hammer on the shifter should loosen it up.

Check the bottom of the bolt before trying it, as they could have changed the design.
