Yep, that's it Ken, unfortunately you'll have to get me a bottle as Aldi are not in Tasmania. It's something we treat ourselves to when visiting interstate family, but I like the way you and Bruce think

Its a not a big deal as there is no Aldi up here anyway. It appears that Mackay won't get get one for a while.
I had a brainstorm about using the 1200 watts to power a belt sander. A variable speed jobbie no less.

The spindle size of the single speed 4 " Aldi Angle Grinder is 14mm thread with a 16mm parallel register.
The spindle size of the variable speed 5" Aldi Angle Grinder is 14 mm thread with a 14mm parallel register.
Don't know why they made them different ?
    regards

    Thanks Bruce,
    Much appreciated mate.

That's a good sized motor even for a 5" grinder. My thoughts were that that sort of grunt would lend itself to a low cost belt sander- I still have the multi tool attachment for an angle grinder -but that's for another time as I have enough on my plate at the moment.

My shed kit finally arrived today and now awaits the erector crew.I fully expect this will now precipitate at least another couple of weeks of rain or wind or both to further delay shed completion.
Again many thanks for your kindness.

I put mine through hell, still going.

FWIW, When I was renovating the house I now live in, I got a quote to cut out two spaces for louvres in a brick fence. Quote was about $600 from memory. Spotted the adli diamond angle grinder discs for $10 IIRC. Bought a pack but they would not fit any of my angle grinders, so I ended up buying the aldi angle grinder for $30. Grand total of around $40 v $600 bucks for the concrete cutting guys to do the job.

When I was renovating this place, I got lucky with aldi. Took the keys on friday, needed some wrecking bars. Aldi had them on sale the next day! Bathrooms are kitted out with aldi taps and shower heads. Fence was cut using aldi angle grinder and diamond disc. There is a lot of aldi screws/hooks/washers etc. I camped here whilst doing the reno, use an aldi kettle and aldi blow up mattress. Everything seemed to come on sale just as I needed!

About the only thing that did not come on sale was the aldi table saw. Mine seized up as I cut the last floorboard downstairs. I was hoping to replace it with and aldi one. Ended up with a bosch unit, but still bought some aldi saw blades for it!

    HI,
There pretty good Angle Grinders that ALDI sell. I gave one a hard time for 3 to 4 years till a piece flew of the Fan then I tossed it in the Bin.
