    Default Aldi angle grinder

I grabbed one of these angle grinders today - they look pretty good - you can never have enough grinders

Did you grab some of those diamond cutting discs while you're at it I bought the grinder, the reciprocating saw and two packs of grinding discs.

    Thanks for the reminder WelderMick.
Although I have a couple of fixed speed Angle Grinders I just purchased the Variable Speed Grinder from Aldi.
The variable speed is handy for Scotchbrite discs & the like !!!
    Thanks again for the prompt.
    regards

Of course - doing a renno at the moment and its amazing how useful those disks are.
Also got a couple of packs of the normal abrasive disks for hack work and the little micro bench grinder (thought it would be good for tungstens).
I was tempted by the little drill press and recip saw, but I've got those bases covered already.
I wasn't kidding about never having enough disk grinders - I think they're the one tool that really are worthwhile having multiples as I will often use a grinding disk, flap disk and wire wheel all within a couple of minutes - so 3 grinders will be perfect for me. Maybe I need 4... scotchbrite.... hmmmm
    Cheers

I bought one last time they were out great if you buy the disk they have that fit the arbor.

Mine however doesn't fit normal size arbor holes I have had to make up a shim. Normal 3" disk are too small to fit in outside dia and centre hole to big as were the holes of the other disk they sell.

    The variable speed is great.

I just checked - mine's the same... a bit disappointing that, but I think I'll keep it (might just have to go and buy a few more disks).

    Default Splurging out

    Thanks WelderMick for the tip.

Just raced down to my local Aldi's looking for the angle grinder. After walking up and down the aisles, and nearly giving up, finally spotted them tucked in a corner.

Not bad for $30. Feeling indulgent, splurged out on a $10 wrist watch, and a $10 dry fire extinguisher for the car.

    I'm happy with that.

Struth, they even had bandsaws, routers, planers, tool chests and drill presses, plus cheap wine, ahem, I mean bottles of "medicine" impressive.

A bloke I knew referred to that as "snakebight cure", and even if we are huddled over the heater right now, Summer won't be far away, so you'd better stock up on Snakebight Cure

    Default Snake bight?

RT, snake bight or snake bite? Is one less severe than the other?

    Grab a bottle for me!

In addition to the RT angle Grinder, I did grab a pack of Masonry & Metal Grinding wheels
Also never leave Aldi without a few bottles of the "Snake Bite Cure"
We live in the bush & its essential to have a substantial stock on hand.
My favourite from Aldi is the A.C Byrne Coonawarra 2012 Cab Sav @ 10 bottle..... good stuff, with proven medicinal qualities !!!!

The bore to these discs are 7/8" which is the same as most that are sold in Bunnies and masters.
