Hi. I have a grinding job (diy). I will be grinding the edges of a wide slot in thin-walled stainless steel 25mm tubing.

I’ve done a bit of it and calculate that it will take me 9 hours to do. I’m thinking of doing 1 hour per day for 9 days, partly because I don’t want to subject the neighbours to prolonged noise but also because I can only maintain concentration and hence safety for an hour max.

It’s a 115 mm cordless grinder. A bit gutless but I prefer it that way as I’m a bit concerned about kickback so don’t want to be using some beast-machine that can overpower me.

What is the best blade to use? I’m talking speed mainly.

I tried a standard metal grinding blade but very slow.
I tried a 40 grit flap wheel. Somewhat faster. Wear down quickly.
I investigated diamond blades but they don’t seem to be for metal.
But I’m wondering if there is anything in the market I’m overlooking.

Cheers
Arron
