A couple of nice finds !
Hi Guys,
I got this 1" - 2" Starret micrometer this morning, found in the scrap yard ! The cheeky bugger took 10 pounds off me for it. Things must be getting hard, whilst I appreciate him putting it on one side for me, the amount of scrap that I regularly give him goes on my account ! Not that I've ever seen or had an account...

I've checked it and its in very good condition. Even the ratchet, which is a common seizure point on these works properly.
Whilst I was in the area, I made a visit to one of the engineering shops I've done work for. A cup of tea and a natter with the works foreman, I came away with this,

Its a Federal 1/10 ths thou dial gauge. He said that he had it squat away in his draw waiting for me to call in ! I thought that it was very nice of him. He is one of the chaps that gives me access to the scrap bin when I'm looking for bits of material to play with.
