Years ago I had to enlarge some holes in an extremely hard saw blade (for use in a sawmill). I used a masonry bit and reground it until it was like an ordinary twist drill. This did the job on the six holes required, beautifully.

It's amazing how many different sized holes there are in circular saw and friction cut off discs.

I have a whole collection of spacers in a tin to allow me to fit discs on my various collection of circular saws.

Doesn't seem to be much uniformity in the whole system.

At last count I must have at least 500 cutoff and grinding discs of various sizes. Just can't seem to help myself and not buy them when they're going cheap, and at garage sales.

And then there's the 400 or so abrasive discs for the angle grinders, and the 300 odd cutting discs for the tool post grinder and the ...............

But at least I won't run out any time soon.
