Yeah, but what about the award for the most inappropriate coloured machine tool? The educational institution that owned my mill before me painted it white. It is now an oil stained off white colour...

Ordinary Green, erk.... now, on the other hand, Reseda Green, there's a nice colour for quality machine tools...

Here you go... make this your next colour choice, it will calm those frazzled pink nerves...

I also still win the award for best coloured lathe...
Not sure if it's the colour or not RC, but I reckon that there are plenty of blokes who would willingly swap their lathes for one of yours, even if the colour could not be changed.

Jeez. What's a fella to do? Nominated for eloquence. Jinkies!
Thanks Ken, for your vote of something something which alludes to something I said which may or may not be construed to be eloquent, or indeed elegant. Or something.

Since it appears that I am again home on the forum I shall endeavour to regale you with a written floriade of random BS. Right this minute I am occupied with events in the East Java Sea, but I shall again get oily in the new year. Already I am looking forward to getting at least a rudimentary machining set-up in our current house, but the real deal is still on the drawing board.

My architect asked if I wanted three phase power. i replied "three phase? Pffft! I want four phase!" Do they have that?

Rudimentary Gregory? So the Hembrug remains south?

Bon Soir, Robert. Yes, the Hembrug remains south, at. Chez Machtool. I have been so engrossed in this house project that I have let weeks and months slip by.

Sometime soon I aim to go south, purchase a tow vehicle, trailer and load up the lathe, building supplies and timber and head back north. I expect to be occupied for a couple of years on the house/garage/workshop, but that will be mostly about wood and architects and self-control. Oh, and my new "Tasers for Tradies" initiative for which we hope to get funding and sponsorship. I have great hopes for that one. When was the last time you saw actual smoke on a smoko? Bzzzzzt!

All stupidity aside...I also own a grinder and an Aciera Drill press. Or at least the upper sections of same. I still need to get a base for it, since it was part of a three head gang drill. Anything with tee slots for a vise will do, so I am on the hunt.

I have decided that I do want another manual mill for playtime, but that is at least two years down the road. In the meantime, woodworking beckons. And tiling, and painting. Mrs Q has already ruled that a stick of gelignite in a gallon can of egg shell white latex does not count as "painting". She is such a traditionalist. I'm bored already

Gees it's good to have you back young Greg.
Another award for you is 'The person that makes me use the dictionary the most'
Many thanks Ken and Richard for my awards although the trouble and strife is putting the pressure on to have a "decent shave" as she puts it.
    Not gunna happen.
I have an award to give out to AndrewOC, The High achieving yet humble at his craft award.
I had the pleasure of meeting him recently.
And of course BT (anorak bob) wins the award for super high end finish.
Needless to say a pretty much blanket award goes to all on this forum for 'being more than helpful'.

GQ has a valid point though Ray...

I was down at the wharf with my wharfie mates working hard and we were sitting down there watching some tradies work and they were working very slowly...

So lets see if I have this correct.

You were down at the wharf with your wharfie mates working hard.

You were sitting down watching some tradies work.

    They were working very slowly.

How hard were you working again?
