I bought some hammerdrive pins from them a few months ago, I found them good to deal with.

I've placed a couple of orders with them. No problems.

I have used them as well but they can be a bit $$$ on some items.

Yep, they got the goodies allright, but and remember the BUT, you better have really deep pockets with lots and lots of 'moola', as they sure know how to charge like a wounded buffalo.

Bought some gear stock from them once but as stated, they know how to charge. Very expensive on a lot of stuff.

They are fair to deal with. As others have said they are dear with on a lot of items. But they can get hard to source parts. For bearings use the hobby range as it's cheaper by a long shot. For instance using skate bearings for loco axle box bearings at a few bucks each makes sense to me. They have a vast catalog worth perusing.

Has anybody else noticed the similarity in product range, web site layout and style

    for these sites..

Hobby & Engineering Supplies Information - Hobby and Engineering
Mechanical Components Information - Small Parts
Mechanical Components Information - Mini Bearings

Same address, same fax number, same product range...

    Regards
    Ray

Worth noting that when I bought my hammerdrive pins, I only needed 10 each of a few sizes, but it worked out cheaper to buy 50 of each size.
I just played around with the quantities on my order to find the best price for the quantity discounts.

Wow I see what you mean.
DP1600009000HST1 Hobby and Engineering Parts and Components
    1off $71.39
    10off $91.74
You'd be upset if you bought 4off.
But they do warn you in the listing.

Pinsdowelstandardhardenedsteel - Hobby And Engineering Parts And Components

If you scroll down the the second listing and click on "Prototype Pricing"(cant copy the link because of the space)

They offer the "overs" to you at a cheap rate within 2 months. Which is pretty damn nice of them I think.(but I guess if they have 95 loose they'd rather sell you those than have you order 100off)

p.s. talking about dowel pins, anyone seen cheaper ones anywhere?

Straight from the manufacturer. Hounslow Engineering.

There your side of town, in Bayswater. Been a few years since I’ve been there, but they had a sales counter back then. Only place in the country if you want dowels with tapped extraction holes, but they do solids also.

Well who would have thought, I'd always said there are all sorts of places tucked away around here. I'll give them a call.

    Thanks
