Default How I beat the Karcher man

Excuse the pun, but here's a quick tip on removing deep set anti tamper security screws.

    Default Excuse the pun

In the immortal words of Agent 99 - Maxwell Smart, "The ole slot in the back of the tamper proof bit trick"

That's clever Rob. I'm not sure I would have thought to do that, but its bookmarked in my brain now.

Hi Phil, Very smart, if I was pedantic, I would point out that Maxwell Smart was agent 86... his girl friend was agent 99... "missed it by that much"

I was watching the video, thinking he's going to weld an extension piece onto the bit... exactly what I've done in the past, no more, thanks Rob

Maybe we should have a thread for collecting smart tips and tricks.

    Regards
    Ray

That's exactly what I first thought of Ray, but the big downside is that's just going to stuff up my nice little set up security tips.

So it made me think a bit harder.

It's even better in that it's such a simple solution.

Had to share it with you.

I've used brute force in the past and things generally weren't repairable after

Nice tip Rob (no pun intended).

To get my Karcher apart, I swore for ten minutes every few hours then drove to bunnies and bought a long handled Torx driver.

    Your solution is far better.

Great tip thanks, I was told with those little units to always prime and bleed the water supply at the wand before powering up the hp pump to get a reasonable life.

Genius! I have an old karcher that has been dribbling for a long time and have never got around to ordering long shaft torx drive to take it apart, but not it shall be coming apart tommorow and fingers crossed fix or replace whichever bit is split.
