G day Woodfast
I have used 75 x 75 x 10 Angle Section as the basis for the tool rests for my 200mm bench grinders. The vertical flanges were tapped for 8mm and socket head bolts were fitted.Star washers were added for positive lock up.
The pivot action allows the angles needed but the leading edges of the tool rests rest( facing the wheel) must be undercut to allow the clearance for the wheels.
In some places 75 x 75 x 10 angle can be difficult to source so 75 x10 flat bar can be substituted and welded. The mark out dimension for the holes will depend on the dimensions from your existing slide to centreline of the wheel on your machine.
I will take some pics later on today.
(edit) Found a pic on the computer tool rest for b grinder.jpg OK was not as i remembered. I had to cobble up the triangular section for bolt clearance. The larger bolt is an original one and the smaller is the 8mm. More later when I drag it out of the shed and pull it apart- its several years since I have modded it.

I made one of these for a customer recently. It is for a linisher but i was thinking it would make a great rest for a bench grinder. The table in angle adjustable and with the arm the way it is the rest can reach both the front and side of the wheel.
