It might have been a bit stronger if you went with both bent at 50 instead of one 25 to add a little more support. That way it would have a wire top and bottom like the back.
Just a thought, would it be stronger if you turned it around so the longer bent leg was at the front.

Thanks Dave - I tried it both ways and it doesn't seem to be any different. The reason I wanted a narrow (25 mm) lip at the front was so that the lip would take up as little vertical space as possible because the drip tray was going to be underneath the 25 mm. Now I think I have worked out a way for the drip tray to tuck up under the lip.

Below is a pic of a mesh bender by dawn that could be expanded in length and more fingers added..

The alternate cheap rrs way is to lay a straight bar or angle along the bend line and half cut through( along that line) with a thin a grinder blade.

Bend up to 90 degrees and tack at each bend.

    HI,
I am a bit Late, but here is a Link to some plans to Buy and Download for US$9.95 DIY Wire Mesh Bender - Wire Mesh Bending Brake . When I worked in Melbourne Years ago for Camping & Outdoor Industries in Cambellfield. We used to use a Non Finger 2.4mt Panbrake to Bend some of the Wire Mesh Products the Mesh was about 3mm thick from memory. Bending the Mesh in the Panbrake was a bit hard on the Machine though.

If your interested I could take a picture of my $10 garage sale special I had had for years. It's just made out of angle and flat bar and the guy that made was rough and didn't even knock off the sharp oxyed edges.
It's a really simple design that works great.
