Black acetal leadcrew nuts
Hi
Has anyone an opinion re: the use of copolymer acetal material for leadscrew nuts . The link Ewan posted seems to suggest it is a viable and more economic option , instead of the expensive bronze nuts

Hi Mike,
Which link was that? One of the ones in Michaels thread? I have read both positive and negative comments on using pom, but the one thing that keeps cropping up is that it does wear quickly and you really need some form of backlash adjustment.
I can get small slugs of Bronze locally specifically for nuts, not sure on the grades as i have never really needed to pay much attention. They are between $5 and $15 each depending on size.
Cheers,
