Hi Kryn, Guys,

I remembered that you asked for pictures of the parting blade clamp that I use !

This is from the chuck side looking towards the tailstock. The blade is a 200 mm long by 2 mm thick by 12 mm tall. It is clamped in place by the piece above it, using the two outer M6 cap screws.

This is a view from the front. There is a piece of machined square bar inside the tool block mouth and is secured in place by the centre cap screw. It does not touch the top of the angle piece. The two outer cap screws apply pressure to the angle, which in turn secures the blade. The two outer cap screws actually drop into holes drilled in the square bar.

Its difficult to see in the picture but the angle piece is a few thou above the tool block surface and causes the lip pressing on the parting blade to press the blade tightly against the square bar.

The idea is that the parting blade is held absolutely square and cannot move under parting pressure

A view from the top of my Norman patent tool post. Its completely interchangeable with the front one, so if I needed to I can simply swap them and part from the front.

The black plastic block is only there for the height adjusting screw to bear on.
Note that the parting blade is upside down for parting at the rear and needs to be turned over if used from the front.
