Boring Head Purchase
I am in need of purchasing a boring head. Rather than buy multiple I would like the following;
- fits Bridgeport R8
- fits NT50
- preferably able to go from small holes up to say 100mm+
I expect the boring head is threaded and can be fitted onto different tooling (R8 and NT50 in my case) so I expect the first 2 points are easily accounted for. As for the size holes it will do, are there different sizes or do I just use longer bars to achieve additional size?
Is the thicker boring bar always better? Can a large boring head still accurately do smaller holes?
What boring heads can you guys recommend (and sources)???
