Alex Surface Grinder H186
Ok fellas, enough of the seriousness, now getting back to mucking about I thought I'd put up a few pics of my surface grinder when first got her, June 2010, bit shabby, but never the less I love her. She's out of India, by Alex Machine Tools ,I've found everything to be pretty well made and luckily no appreciable wear with original scraping marks still present on all the slideways.
More pics to come very shortly depending on speed of WWW(WorldWideWait).
Cheers. If I'm not right, then I'm wrong, I'll just go bend some more bananas.

Nah Ueee, I think I'm a bit less than a bit more than a tad less than arf way thru some of it. You see the other day I bought a 6'x 4' box trailer for $50, now one doesn't get much goodness with a $50 box trailer if you know what I mean. It's saving grace is it has good wheels and hubs, very good tyres (damn, I had to add tyres to spell checker, what's the world coming to), it also has good axle, springs, tow coupling, 7 pin plug and tail-lights,,I'll say the rest is----- well you know,,,,,,,another so and so project.
Yea I sprayed the paint, White Knight Rustguard epoxy Brunswick Green. I put a fair bit of work in preparation, sanding, bogging, sanding, bogging, sanding, spot puttying, sanding, ditto ditto ditto bla bla bla. Did I say sanding?.
All the panels and covers etc are up on the mezzanine floor they are painted and ready for attachment. Still have to work on the saddle and work table etc.
Yea yea yea I know, planer ASAP, though I have some work I have to get out this week and some I have to get well under way.
Cheers. If I'm not right, then I'm wrong, I'll just go bend some more bananas.

THE metal planer
Well It's finally in the shed, did the deed yesterday, it has resided outside since late March. Before I covered it with a couple of cheapish tarps I liberally coated the machined and shiny bits in anti-corrosive stuff and it has survived it's ordeal outside with shining colours.
Go here for a rough and ready video of it running. Metal Planer :: Metal Planer, unknown make video by Terro_au - Photobucket
When I view the vid on Photobucket the table appears to move jerkily but it's not jerky.
When I get it leveled and bolted down I'll make a new vid.
Cheers. If I'm not right, then I'm wrong, I'll just go bend some more bananas.

Wow, did you run it on the forklift? That seems very 'courageous', Minister.
Table looks in great shape. In fact it looks tidy overall. Do you have particular work in mind for it?

Looking good Log
She certainly makes a pretty recognizable noise! I didn't think the feed was jerky, just the camera operator... Its damn hard to hold a camera still.....you think you have done ok when you watch it back on the tiny screen, but on the big screen its a like an earthquake!
