Default A Boys Dreams does come true

They say patience is a virtue well waiting since mid 1960's to own a metal lathe may be a bit OTT for some. I took delivery of an well cared for ML7 Myford.

Now for the big learning curve. Thing is I now have the two sons keen as mustard as well

    Nice one Ray,

I see many happy hours of learning and creative endeavour ahead. I see you've got a milling attachment already.

Look forward to following the progress.

So now I understand the clear-out of that "busy" shed/garage of yours Ray....
Sorry it's been 35 plus years since I worked a metal lathe so no help for here.
Looking forward to seeing your efforts; but don't forget the woodwork side.....lol...
    Cheers, crowie

Now somewhere on their site was great announcement the other day Myford are to release a new Lathe THIS YEAR. I await the launch.

    Edited to add

    Here's the statement

By the end of 2012, due to popular demand, Myford will be manufacturing lathes once again.

All parts will be made in the UK using contemporary manufacturing techniques. As soon as the design has been finalised, specifications of the lathe will be available online.

Nice pick up there Ray, well done. My old man use to own one of those and sold it after he retired. He did offer it to me at the time but I wasn't interested. Now I am and I'm kicking myself.
