Lenox also have a small range of snips, but maybe they aren't USA made. I came across a video of a guy testing Wiss, Midwest, Lenox and HDX (Home Depot own brand):

You can skip to the 20:30 mark for the toughest test - cutting 18 gauge. He then summarises. I only watched about 7-8 minutes of it, but it seems a pretty fair comparison.
Bad news - VERY bad news: it seems Cooper Tools have bought Wiss....and we know what happened to Nicholson files when Coopers bought them out. This probably explains Fabrique de China. If they are still making some in the USA it won't be for long. Coopers is clearly run by accountants. See here:

"Outlawmws" refer to the Cooper Tools buy out near the bottom of the page.

Has anyone had any experience using the Erdi jewellers snips? I saw them at Masters and contemplated buying a pair for my daughter who would probably use them to cut brass and silver. I didn't buy them, not because I'm tight, but because I knew nothing about them. They did look nice though.

Gilbows for me, always reliable. I did pick up a small pair of Protos which are pretty good and a monstrous pair of Samsons that only Samson himself could use, they are so big. But I'll always reach for the Gilbows first.

Nothing is sacred any more it seems. Just read that Gilbows are now known as Gilbows Irwin or v.v.
