    Default Bugger!!!!

    Hi,

A bit off topic but I need to rant. My dream of owning my own milling machine (Hercus or Tom Senior or the like) is getting further and further away.
We moved house in late January, we decided to change internet and landline providers which ended up costing me about $1000 dollars in phone internet charges as the kids decided to use theirs Mums phone as a laptop. Then my wife broke a tooth, another $1500. And today I come home from Total Tools (which was closed) to find my 2 year old was playing golf with the new 60" Plasma I had to buy for the new house - total writeoff.
Ahh, the joys of parenthood. I'll just keep putting my 5 cents away and one day have enough for that little Hercus.

    Happy Easter.

    Ben

Just buy the mill and go out to the shed, no need for a new TV as you wont be in the house, LOL

Our dogs accidentally pulled our video projector out of its projection cupboard 2m above the ground. There was a loud bang and tinkling of glass and that was the end of TV in the family room. That was 3 weeks ago and I haven't missed it one bit. SWMBO generally watches TV in the bedroom or iView stuff on her iPad so it hasn't bothered her either.

The dogs don't seen to miss "In the night garden" either although I note a few extra holes in the back lawn.

Why are the dogs now outside as it would appear that they were untrained house dogs.

Default Dogs & computers don't mix!

My computer sits on my dining room table, who needs a desk?

Rotti, the Rottweiler bolted in, straight under the table, caught all the cables, and smash. Computer and screen fell 700mm to the floor.

After screaming at the dog, and it was my fault, I gingerly put every thing back in place, and turned it on. Worked fine, beat that for good luck.

Gave the dog a cuddle afterwards and got a lick on the face, beat that!

The projector was hooked up to the video recorder and set top box via a cable that ran across the floor - it has been that way for 6 years - never been a problem.

The "Accident" happened when a friend was showing us some photos so we hooked her laptop up to the projector via a long VGA cable.

Our two dogs (border collies) came thundering in to see what was on the screen (the older one just loves watching TV on the big screen) and one got tangled in the VGA cable and pulled the projector out of the cupboard.

Fortunately the friend managed to grab hold of her laptop otherwise they would have pulled it off the small table in front of her.

SWMBO blames me - she wanted me to buy a wireless projector last year - so I got 3 extra months out of this one!

That's the beauty of a dog, they forgive you straight away, try doing that with a SWMBO.

    Default Better off without it...

I haven't had a TV for more than 20 years. Don't miss it. Plenty of other things to do.

    Regards,

    K.

    HI,

Well its all good now. I'm over it, its only money and you can't take it with you. My kids are precious and irreplaceable, the tv isn't. I'll just keep saving up. Just about to sell my car, so will try and put some money in my cunning kit.

    Cheers Ben.

ps, thank God the dog hasn't broken anything yet!
