Thread: does bunnings sell steel rod round solid

Welcome! I don't think they do. I think you will find they only stock a limited supply of black flat bar and maybe some angle. The only round stock they sell is all thread in various sizes. If you live nearby then I'd still give them a try. Also the price you pay for a 1.8M length will be the same price you pay at a steel merchant for a full length.

Good luck. Nothing worse than having time to spend on a project but not have the materials!

Yes I have seen it there up to 12mm solid round steel.

I have bought 6mm and 12mm there so I guess they would. Can't say I have seen it but wasn't looking for it either. If I remember correctly it was in the pool fence section.

thanks i will give them a try tommorow morning gonna get the 6mm , i really want to get this finished off so i can at least relax all day monday public holiday queen birthday . man it sux having public days off work only to to be able to do nothing with it because all the places are closed on them , they are pricey at bunnings but when all other places are closed i have no choice , this is what im building its a 57cc inline twin rc hpi baja just gotta make the protective rollcage frame and build a front section to finish it off .

thanks man gonna give them a try in the morning .

i went to bunnings this morning i went into the building supplies section, and they have alot of stuff like alluminum tube and sheets and steel round in 6.3mm to 12mm but all the steel round is GALV the 6.3mm a meter cost $3.10 a metre or a full length of 3metre is $8.10 , so i just got 9 pieces of 1metre lenghts .

Greetings chaps, I have bought steel at Bunnings but it varies from store to store The larger outlets have a bigger range. I found some bright mild 1/4 by 1/2 inch at Sunsine but not at Altona. Yours 4-6-4
