For those buying lathes or adventuring into machining..

Same textbook that the trade schools use for apprentice fitters. Can be bought new from the trade schools for $50 if you ask nicely, otherwise the above would be an excellent buy. Covers a lot of lathe operations. (Even dismounting cam-lock chucks. )
Also has sections regarding Milling, Drilling & Grinding that are worth the read. Great reference book to keep on a shelf somewhere in the DIY's shop. (Right next to Machinery's Handbook.)'What the mind of man can conceive, the hand of a toolmaker can achieve.'
Owning a GPX250 and wanting a ZX10 is the single worst experience possible. -Aside from riding a BMW, I guess.

It's a good book all right. New at TAFE it's about $70.
The Course Modules for each machining/metalworking/welding are usually more detailed and cost $12 to $20+ dollars depending on size.
When I was enrolled here at Tamworth TAFE I joined the Student Association for $15 I think, and got 10% off - well worth it.
The book is a good buy at 26 bucks.
Regards,
Richard
