The old girl looks like its in pretty good cond. Definately not an ex tafe machine which is probably a big bonus. (Even the Nuttalls, as tough as they are, were not totally student proof) They were a good rugged machine. Not real high speed though, unfortunately, though by using a VFD you could probably easily bump the high speeds up and still keep the slow speeds. That would also depend on the headstock bearings as well.
I've never seen a Nuttall in that shade of blue either. My brother has an old flat belt drive Herbert - Nuttall which is a dark blue. All the other Nuttalls I've seen have been Tafe machines which were all medium grey. Maybe Tafe ordered them in grey. In my opinion the blue on yours looks heaps better than boring old grey.

Definitely been repainted, which means nothing on performance...Look at the base, it has lost most of it's paint..
AFAIK those ones came in three bed lengths, 600 centres, the one you have and I have seen one about 6ft centres.
