    Default Cairns interstate transport?

Groovers, there is a high school in the Cairns district that has advertised some of their machinery for free To another school. We are talking about 3 Hercus lathes, 1 Hercus shaper, 2 mechanical hacksaws, an upright metal bandsaw, a horizontal metal bandsaw, some welders and other pieces. Again free to another school. Does anyone know of a transport company that would back order some of these items to the Sunny Coast area for a very reasonable price? Regards Damien.

I can't give you a recommendation for a Cairns Brisbane freight company but there are several. I know that finding back loading is usually a problem for the carriers, you will probably get your best price from one of the smaller outfits.

The trucking companies will greatly prefer that the items be palletised.

I know that It is a pain to transport items like this and at that distance too, but small schools would literally kill to have 3 lathes and an extra bandsaw. I know I teach at one of them. Just a shame that's all. Damien.

Millthorpes Transport, run that far north, you might get lucky with a backload.

The problem is not going to be getting them transported...

The problem is going to be getting them ready for transport and loaded and lashed down correctly..

Agree completely. Never underestimate a freight company's ability to damage stuff.... PDW
