Thanks for the info. I was looking for something like this just recently to protect/insulate a handle.

You used to be able to get a latex rubber coating that was good for that, too long ago to remember the name. Try one of the bigger electrical wholesalers or check if there is a larger electricians that might make industrial switch boards they use similar products on some of the bus bars.

I for one am very interested in the results. I have never used the stuff, although I realise it has been around for quite a while.

Make sure you clean the metal really well otherwise it comes off. It is the same bright plasticky stuff you get on cheap tool handles.

Noticed the firm selling has Plasti dip primer and thinner that may obviate lifting, seemed like a good idea to use all three products like the Irishman said To be sure to be sure.

It will work better and last longer if the item being coated has some shape changes built into it so that it is larger at the tip if the dipped end. If you dip something like round bar or tube, its not hard to get it to slip in the surface and start to work loose.
