    You could just buy a 16mm and machine 4mm off the bottom. You will loose the case hardening, but the holding screws won't be on it so who cares? Of course i'm presuming you have a mill.

    I'll do that if a 12mm doesn't show up. I do have a little mill, will the case hardening kill my HSS end mills?

    Hi tbone
    I know very little about inserted cutters so could you tell me what was wrong with the ones I pointed out in a previous post. Hopefully I got the right ones but they were not suitable because they are from overseas.

    I could not see a suitable holder in a 12mm tool height on that page. It looked to me like the appropriate holder for those inserts was for a 20mm tool height. If I'm mistaken then I'll run with them for sure.

    You would probably require a carbide tool to machine the case hardened variety of indexable carbide tiped tools,luckily I have allways chosen the non hardened type.
