    Wow, the robotics and mechanisation for 1936 is amazing, the casting was amazing, the fact they all had five fingers two arms and two legs was amazing, the fact that the guy forging the cranks could see anything through his spectacles was amazing and I loved the guy listening to the big ends

    Yes its pretty amazing but it is the USA after all . Those guys were glad to have a job in the middle of the depression .

    I believe the crankshaft main bearings were line bored on those chev engines . I witnessed a old machinist line boring a vintage car engine block at a vintage car show years ago - he looked like he had done it a million times before and he was bored .
