I need them for my Chipmaster lathe

Mick Moyle in Sydney had some last time I was there. I'll be going to see him in about 6 weeks so I'll take a look.

I need a D1-6 to mount my spare P-B collet chuck to the Monarch lathe. The Chipmaster has the collet chuck almost permanently mounted.

    OK thanks

I sent a email to Frank at CDCO last night , he replied within 5 minutes . He will fit X 2 D1-3 back plates into a $60 USPS box .

The plates are around $45 each + the shipping . MM's might be a cheaper deal

    ?

Doubt it. I think the price was over $100 but maybe that was the D1-6. It was nearly a year ago that I was there.

If you've a need for them soonish I'd order them from CDCO and be done with it. MM won't be any cheaper.

There are backplates and there are backplates.....

For example the ones on my chinese chucks are turned. taper and all..... You can see how poor the contact area is on the taper....

The Bison one I have is all ground and much better....
