I picked up a new piper mt2 standard duty today for the Holbrook. It was $169.95, pretty cheap really for something still made in aus.

How easily does the centre turn Ew?

The one I have is stiff, I've always thought that it was bearing preload due to the high weight carrying capacity of the centre. Could be rooted though I did buy it new and boxed from Canada of all places.

Does the Holbrook only have a MT2 tailstock? That's a bit surprising. I'd have thought it'd be MT3.

I'd be interested to know as well Bob as mine is the same.

    Hi Bob,
Not easy to describe....how about not easily but very smoothly? You can turn it by rolling one finger on it, but it does not spin freely.

Thanks Ewan, and Bob for asking, it's nice to know I haven't got a dud.
