I was watching that one as well. It went for over $1K in the end.

I think that correctly listed Arbogas always fetch $1000 +. The 825 Heavy was immediately superseded by the 2508 which is a slightly more modern looking machine. A friend has one of each and I cannot now recall what if any minor differences there are. The 825 was made under contract in Germany for Arboga Maskiner, possibly as they tooled up for the newer machine.
I would happily give an 825 space in my shop and sell my similar gear head drill press. Having an X-Y table and a very fine worm feed on the quill makes for a delightful machine. Having additional light milling ability would be equally welcome.
As others have written, the hot set-up for one of these machines is to have one or more ER collet chucks ground to accept a u-shaped washer which is in turn captured by the quill nut. The old Clarkson auto-locks take up too much headroom, and most ebay cutters (not cheap cutters) you see are plain shank.
