Not for everyone so don't jump.
I inherited some old hand-tools from my dad some years ago but didn't use the pliers and pincers etc as I have newer ones with, plastic coated handles.
My side-cutters suffered a handle "peel-back" event recently and I thought about using garden hose to cover the handles. Yuk!!
I then realised that "leaky-hose" may work well. Now my side cutters and all my dad's old pliers etc have non-slip plastic handles.
The other positive is that the handles are now thicker and easier on my aging hands and wrists.
Heating the ends of the hose allows you to form it over the end of the handles.
