    Default Surface plate substitute

    Hi

    A suggestion in a old edition of MEW grabbed my attention. The writer wrote that, for those who cannot afford or justify buying a expensive granite surface plate, a glass plate will suffice for most hobby workshops . They suggest mounting the plate in a wooden frame of some kind . Maybe an old mirror from the op shop would be ideal
