Thread: New very convenient Bris-northside Steel Supplier...

Dear Gentlemen,

I've often lamented the hitherto-prevalent situation regarding the availability of Steel on the Northside of Brisbane. Up to now, it usually involved a fair drive over to the Banyo/Northgate district, to one of those Heavy-Industrial Estates, and a big impersonal Industrial-Shed setup (along with the "Dice-with-Death-by-Big-Truck" that usually went Cheek-by-Jowel with the drive...).

Well, in an effort to find some 33.7 x 2.0 CHS as legs for my old Elu Mitre Saw, I dropped into a place this afternoon right on Newman Rd, Geebung, called "Bits of Steel Supplies" (BOSS for short...) They are right there on Newman Rd; 415 Newman Rd to be exact - same side of the road as Delta Street, and just to the south of it...

It sounds like they've only been there for less than a year, and there are apparently two partners in the business. The guy who looked after me (Jeff - one of the partners), couldn't have been a nicer guy. Absolutely could not have been (even though I was 3/4 dead with Swine Flu at the time, and not quite at the zenith of my conversational charm...)

Anyway, he had to cut the CHS from a stock-length for me, but 2.8m of it still only came to $15 flat! With a docket! Enough said...

Anyhow, their phone number is 3865 7740. Geebung now finally fully Rocks!... (except that I don't think either of the "Fastener" guys down there will do a Cash Sale for less than $10. Other than that, it fully Rocks!)
