I don't know if its dual voltage Jekyll and Hyde and its way to cold out there to check tonight.
I think, given the expence of the inverter, I will keep the 3 phase pump as a spare.
As far as the mill goes I was just sick of the time amd expence of going to look at them. By the time I add DRO some cleaning up and the inverter, I wont have much left from the price of a HM52D. Then there is "is the extra Y better then the hoz spindle" etc etc lol
Have one now, to late to change my mind lol

Exactly my reason for deciding on a Steinmetz connection - you can run 240v 3 phase motors off 240v single with a couple of capacitors. No VFD required. You could do the same with the spindle motor if desired, but it may burn it out over a period of time, and there is reduced power and torque, not to mention the motor won't run as smoothly (bad surface finishes). If the pump blows up its only $100 odd for a single phase one from H&F, spindle motors are a little more expensive....
The VFD won't even know the pump is there, as the pump is being supplied 240v single phase before the VFD.
