Post CQ6230A Installation and Operation handbook

Hi Guys, just brought Tony Roulston's CQ6230 lathe. Unfortunately the handbook is oil soaked and unreadable, just wondering if anyone has an electronic copy they could email to me please? [email protected] and thanks in advance. Love the forum and contributions. Ron Hall

    Hi Ron,
    Welcome
Got a picture? google beings back a few different models for CQ6230. Likely you don't really want the manual that came with it, they are pretty shocking. But I likely have one anyway lol. Grizzly machinery have much better manuals. I'll likely have one of those as well.

If it's the same as a Grizzly machine, you can easily download the user manual from their web site as a pdf file.

The worst that can happen is you will fail.
    But at least you tried.

Yeah but they can be painful to find for older models.... but at least they are there.

I have an original manual for a CQ6230 if that's any good to you. If you want a copy, I can scan and post it.

Here is what it looks like... I took the photo when I drained the smelly gearbox oil that was in it and and replaced it with ISO68 oil.

Its just dawned on me that may manual has all three gearboxes in it.
I pdfed it sometime ago for another forum member. Its to large for the forum. I'll email it shortly.
I'm pretty sure the grizzly manuals are more specific.

This is the closest Grizzly I could find. The QCGB will likely be different. The levers for speed changes maybe different also, depending on when the lathe was made. The carriage handles maybe back to front. But other than that its about the same

I really like the Grizzly manuals too. They are the best I have seen of the different manuals that come with Chinese lathes.

The quality of the manual indicates to me that the Grizzly product may well be a good cut above the competition.
It appears as though they are big enough to influence the Manufacturers to build a decent sale-able product.

Oh to be able to buy a machine tool product and all that's needed is to open the box ,clean off the packing grease ,adjust it and use it.

Come on Grizzly ,find an Australian partner and send us some respectable machine tools to buy.
