Cutting Fluid Ratio
At the school where I work we have been using a Castrol product. Ratio was about 80ml per 4 litres. Unable to get the aforementioned product we bought a Hole Maker product with a dilution ratio of 1 is to 10. Obviously we will go through this product fairly fast. I also made a phone call about a Goliath product which has a 1 to 20 ratio which is more economical although it had a higher retail price.
Is there a better more economical product, readily available, that we may try? Its main use is the metal cutting drop saw.

We use the Castrol safetycool cutting fluid at about the same sort of dilution. Annually we drain the sump in the cold saw and replace the fluid completely when the new year starts. At about july, itll get a top up with a dash of cutting fluid, but throughout the year, itll only recieve top ups of water to maintain the level. The oil evapourates at a much much slower rate than the water, which will disappear quite quickly.
This is in a school also.

Hi,
I use Callington Ultra Synthet 971 http://www.callingtonhaven.com/_asse...synthet971.pdf
It is diluted at 5% for normal use, i think it 3 or 4% for the grinder. Shelf price here is about $9 p/L. Being full synthetic it doesn't go smelly or affect your skin as some find with oil based products.
Cheers,
