Damascus, Swords, Drop Hammer etc 2
Due to back room problems i have to start a new thread.....it seems we can't reply to old threads at the moment. I'm sure the hard working boys will sort it out.
This follows on from here: https://www.woodworkforums.com/f65/da...9/#post1470866
Its been a while but i figure this belongs here and not in Mlle's thread....
I have finally got the head together, as luck had it i found some bearings out of the states at a decent price and after dropping a comment at the local shop they had C nuts in the size i needed!
I was looking for something to test it out on this evening and my pile of 5160 and sword jigs caught my eye. This is the results. I'll try to do follow up vids of the edges etc.

Hi Ewan, (Speilberg)
you are getting good at these movies.
Great work on the rebuild. Could you tell me what cutter you are using as when I clicked for full screen it went a bit blurry (could be my eyes) and on normal screen I cant see (that is my eyes).

My new pc has a video editor pre-installed, its a lot easier than trying to use the utube one. The first half of the vid is a bit grainy. Not enough light and keep in mind this is all shot with my phone.....
The cutter is an iscar heli 2000. 32mm dia, 4z. Tips are apkt with r2.5 corners. Speed was 1200 rpm, about 400fpm, feed was 7"pm, about .0015" feed per tooth.1915 17"x50" LeBlond heavy duty Lathe, 24" Queen city shaper, 1970's G Vernier FV.3.TO Universal Mill, 1958 Blohm HFS 6 surface grinder, 1942 Rivett 715 Lathe, 14"x40" Antrac Lathe, Startrite H225 Bandsaw, 1949 Hercus Camelback Drill press, 1947 Holbrook C10 Lathe.
