What a nice machine.Makes me envious that its not coming to my shed. With a bit of luck this marque of machine usually is not for the ''cow boys'' usually the boss's toy or closely guarded by a leading hand in a factory environment.Hope your mill is one of those. As accuracy was why these machines were purchased at a huge capital outlay, they usually went to specialised manufacturing. So with that I will buy my lotto ticket for Saturday night. Good luck and a safe trip with your precious cargo. John.

Oh I get it...................
If I have to guess I'd say its(was) one piece,,,,, but I would have thought that meant it is broken through to the tee slot. If I'm right a fixed might be ticky but I'm sure you guys will come up with something.
I think the arrows in this pic shows part of the crack face.
Enjoy your drive, you can always park it at my place long term

Hi Ray,
Looks like a nice machine.
I remember you where buying the HM52, look how far you have come since then.
Your metal working gear has well and truly over taken your wood stuff, LOL

Here is the drawing of the double inclination head off an FP3/L I imagine the FP2LB double head would be the same.
using that as a guide it seems to have the edge cracked off around (17).

Hey Josh, I think you two are a bad influence on each other,
you will need to rent a factory soon to house all this gear .LOL

Ray and Josh,
congratulations!
You have no idea how often I looked at that listing.... I even talked to Pam about drawing on my super to bid on it..... But it was quite out of my reach.
So I'm very glad it went to a good home!
Well done!Cheers,
Joe

Congratulations Ray and Josh...again
Two things, Bob, do you own the state Library or something and Stuart, I mean really, how do you do that
Looks like I may have to pop in for another visit to see her in the flesh.
Fantastic purchase guys and at least it is going to get some good use.

Nah, just threw 90 bucks at a CD chock a block full of Euro Trashcatalogues and manual scans. There was a thinness of information pertaining to my mill so when I heard about this CD being offered by Alan "Wrench" Huntke over in the Euro section of PM, I bought it.
The Technical Bulletins were something I just had to have printed. They contain "reader's tips". I made a table leveling device for the Swiss based on one of those tips.
There is a beautifully scanned FP2 catalogue included on the CD. GQ may have sent that along with the manual.
I can only say that a number of us have benefited from Stuart's ability to point out the obvious and not so obvious.

Well done boys.
Now when do I need to have the official inspection and customs team attend? Well; it is a bit of a custom here for us to check each others new machinery.
You will notice that I did not use the words 'gear' or 'equipment' there. Not my thing.

I remember going to the machinery expo's in the old days in Melbourne.Held at the old Exhibition building.Being a young lad then with hair and teeth, and in tow behind an old man who would gravitate to these quality machine stands. How splendid were those Deckel mills were complete with their immaculately dressed German sales engineers.they were old school, swept the factory floor, fettled the castings, then progressed through the different departments culminating in selling them. They knew their product back wards.I remember gathering their brochures and re reading and ''drooling'' back home. Also those sales people were ever so friendly and helpful knowing that a sale would not happen to'' poor dirt farmer'' with his kid in tow.
The other stand was the Colchester one. Those Chip master with the hydraulic copy stylus were just out.The old man had the sales person showing him the variator inside.Probably knowing he wasnt going to have a sale with us mentioned that these variators were noisy and be a bit trouble some one day. Haaaa what a forecaster he was.Dad always wanted one but sadly he only ever bought a Taiwanese Tida lathe that made its lively hood.Bought brand new and worn out 20 years later.
He later changed his dreams to the Swiss machines, again way above our pockets. John.

Anytime Ken, you don't need an invitation, just ring beforehand. I've got work in Ky next week, might drop in and check out the Rossi...

Doesn't seem all that long ago, and I still haven't finished the CNC conversion, which was the reason for buying the HM52 in the first place.... and STILL haven't got a CNC mill.....
But, the love of woodworking hasn't dimmed at all, just don't seem to have as much time since I retired...
