G'day there Tanii51, It looks very much like one of the Myford dividing heads. It might b4e worth having a look at www.model-engineer.co.uk or www.evenhomeandworkshop.co.uk for an exact match or model info. I would assume that Myford would have a website that could possiably be of help also..
Hope this helps.

If you havent got access to thread mics or wires, you could (this is very rough) cut a piece of paper at 60 degrres push it into the thread and mark it with something, you could try a vernier and then take a guess as to the gap left at the bottom, you could even try a bit of plastercine.
Could be a big job pulling the spindle out of the head.
Have you tried a Dog plate,I have found they usually have a little more clearance in the thread.
If you are going to pull the Spindle out of the Divideing Head why not machine up a suitable plate.
If all else fails I can make up a small test piece with 1 of my threads send it over if it fits keep it then I can sell you a plate or plates.
With the piece of paper,if you go that way, after marking the Divideing Head depth compare it to your lathe Spindle thread and see if the mark lines up with that thread.

got the spindle out of the head but cant do any more till next week .... work calls
my plan was to fit a thread tool and by hand touch the outer side .. take a reading then manually move the tool into the next thread bottom and take a reading and check the differenceLast edited by tanii51; 16th October 2010 at 10:19 AM. Reason: left some out

Looks like a Tom Senior dividing head. Have a look at the G and M tools website.
Bob.
