I have a Waldown drill press which I bought second hand a few year back and it's always had bad runout in the spindle. I finally decided to investigate and the runout is in the spindle nose taper, 0.12mm at nose!!. The machine is in very good condition, the taper bore surface is excellent so it seems most like a manufacturing fault. I can purchase a new spindle but I'd like to investigate fixing it first. Anyone recommend a business in Adelaide for re-grinding the taper?

I'm temped to try machine it myself but my lathe compound doesn't have the travel to do the full length of the MT3 taper.
