eclipse magnet
Another freebie
eclipse 925 magnetic holder
When turned on it barely has any pull at all which is why it was given away.
has the usual do not dismantle, serviceing by makers only.
I'm guessing it is much like a magnetic chuck and due to it's current state probably can't do much damage to it. Before I do thought I'd see if anyone has gone before me.…..Live a Quiet Life & Work with your Hands

Inside this is what there is.
The magnet is just two rod one bent to touch the sides and one not.

I'm thinking if I at least clean these two surfaces insight stand a better chance.

The thread is buggered in the magnet part. It needs to be bored out and retreaded with a new acme thread then a new mating screw made and I believe it will work again.
I'm not that good on a lathe yet, so its going toast in a cupboard with good intentions till I forget about it.…..Live a Quiet Life & Work with your Hands

The thred is a bit like the worm in a worm gear and it raises and lowers the magnet to activate it. A normal thread would take to much screwing to move the magnet the same distance.
I'm thinking I could possibly put a threaded insert in and use the original screw. But this is still beyond me at present.…..Live a Quiet Life & Work with your Hands
