Hi Eskimo, I'm here.... just half asleep...

Funnily enough, I think you are both saying the same thing..

Stuart is talking about the frequency scaling, and on a lot of the Huanyang VFD's they come set up for 400Hz.. They do this because they are often sold with air cooled spindle motors that will overheat if run at lower speeds.

So if full scale was set to 400Hz, then since it's a V/F drive 50Hz would be 240/8 = approx 30v.. at 50Hz.. maybe plus a little bit of torque boost..

But as Eskimo says, if you configure the drive according to the nameplate 60Hz , it will work just fine at 50Hz.

    Regards
    Ray

PS... From what Mike has said, I don't think that's his problem anyway.

    Default motor

    hi

I took the old motor into the local electric motor business today .

I explained what its from and the VFD setup . They were very nice actually. For $45 I get a complete check out and a report . They said , depending on its condition , it might cost more than the cost of a new motor to repair it .

If I buy a new motor , I would have to turn up a adapter sleeve for the original pulley which has a 1 1/8" bore , , to fit onto the shaft of a new motor eg 25mm

    MIKE
