endmill sharpening
What do you use?
or are they like the rest of the household furniture & whitegoods...throw away?
I know one can spend lots and get a Darex as GQ has pointed out in a previous post, but they are just too pricey
Are those endmill holders that uses 5c collets that you can get from Enco/Travers
Enco - Guaranteed Lowest Prices on Machinery, Measuring Tools, Cutting Tools and Shop Supplies
etc any good? (I have a small surface grinder), or would I be wasting my time?

Nice job! When I first started watching the video I thought you were going to grind straight across (as some people do ... and then wonder why it doesn't cut properly!) but indeed all the angles look to be pretty good. Thanks for sharing.
I use a 4 jaw for simple indexing like that, and have a little bubble level I rest of the horizontal jaw to establish the index. The downside is the 4 jaw needs to be dialed in, but with two keys it only takes 30 seconds, often less.
Yes I have an endmill fastening fixture for my surface grinder. The issue is that by the time I put in a 5C to ER32 adapter and then the endmill itself, I runout of headroom. I have a full 5C collet set on the way from CDCO, as I now have a number of fixtures and machines that take 5C collets, that makes the 4th set of collets I own and use I expect that should solve the headroom issue and I'll let you know how it goes. I believe they work quite well however. It would be quite feasible to purchase just the collets as you needed them for each size.

Usually it's the corners that dull. If you don't actually need a sharp cornered cut, you can replace the corner with a small 45* facet.

Yes I have the collets. I've only used a few sizes, but so far they're fine. I haven't used the fixture for the surface grinder however as I now have a dedicated end mill sharpener. However from the previous fiddling I did with it, I'd expect the fixture to work just fine albeit not as quickly as the Darex.

Its in Harold halls sharpening book, this one: Tool AND Cutter Sharpening BY Harold Hall Paperback 2006 1854862413 | eBay
Actually i just looked in my copy and its not the same as Phils jig.....But there is a lot of good sharpening stuff in the book, including jigs for split point drill sharpening (hehe), all sorts of cutter sharpening, small drill bit sharpening etc.
Cheers,

sharpen
Is there an easy method of sharpening the outside flutes ?
I have a weird looking accessory for my T&C grinder and I think it is used for just this purpose . It will twist the tool as it is fed into the grinder ?
How is this done, normally ?
