I have some with a 0.100" shank (2.5mm) the official name for them is drive pins. Mine have a yellow passivate coating. Send me a PM with an address if you would like a couple.

Found the drive rivets.
Many thanks Ueee, I'll keep that site in mind.
Found the pins! They were buried in the shag pile carpet where the disintegrated container was sitting, out of site. A bit of judicious sifting with finger tips, turned them up.
For the record they appear to be made of steel and probably hardened.

Getting closer
Today I finished off the end gear guard after riveting on the Hercus name plate. Some paint touch-up was required, a polish with Brasso, and a coat of clear lacquer. The name plate looks much better than the iPhone photo betrays.
All that's left to restore is the lathe metal cabinet. That's gunna be a pr*ck of a job. It's badly rusted inside, and some bright spark chopped out the lip of the middle shelf, and welded in a stupid frame. Beautiful mission brown paint job @#!^%, obviously done with a garden broom dipped in sh*t.
I guess the next step is to fork out $100 and get it sand blasted, then assess the damage. Might not need a complete new middle shelf, maybe just a new front lip, and a paint job. All the old electrics are gone.
A rough pic.

Done to death?
Are there no further suggestions re restoring my Hercus lathe cabinet?
Maybe I've covered all bases, if so, good evening!
Ken
